Sebastian Uprimny, Director
Born in Paris, France, Sebastian Uprimny is Director and Principal for inlingua Utah. He grew up in Bogota, Colombia and is fluent in both French and Spanish – and has enjoyed multicultural experiences around the world.
Upon graduation from La Sabana University-Colombia in 1998, where he earned a Business Administration degree in marketing, Sebastian did post-graduate work at the University of Utah to master English and then studied journalism and TV production. With a passion for international soccer, Sebastian was an on-camera interviewer during the Soccer World Cup in Japan and also worked for Eurosport as camera assistant and French/Spanish interpreter during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
Intrigued, skillful and savvy with languages and global business, he has specialized in translation and interpretation services in more than 40 languages. Sebastian has been involved in providing translation and transcreation services for clients such as UnitedHealthGroup, SecureHorizons, Ingenix, AARP, SelectHealth and many others. His understanding of marketing, dialects, and cultural nuances are invaluable to assure Hispanic communications resonate with the appropriate meaning, accuracy and impact.
Alex Guzman, Vice President Marketing Services
Alex Guzman is a native of Guatemala with 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising, promotion, research and analysis, corporate strategy, brand management and mass media. He has a passion for marketing, rich international experience and strong brand management skills.
Alex’s extensive academic background includes studies in Business Administration in Guatemala; Marketing Services in Chile; Strategic Communication in Spain; Marketing Research and Analysis in Costa Rica; Media Marketing and Communication in Colombia, Sports Marketing and Merchandising in France; and Marketing, Customer Service and Business Development in various cities in the United States.
Alex served as Regional Account Manager for Leo Burnett Advertising managing international accounts such as Shell, United Airlines, Johnnie Walker, Ray-O-Vac and Kellogg’s in Central America. While in that capacity, he also worked in Chicago developing strategic plans and tactical strategies for major brands. Additionally, he was professor of Marketing, Human Resources, Business Administration and Sales at the Galileo University in Guatemala, where he was recognized for Outstanding Academic Excellence as a faculty member. Alex also served as the General Marketing Director for the most important newspaper in Guatemala and Central America, Prensa Libre, for five years. His promotional savvy earned him international recognition.
In his role as Vice President at inlingua Utah, Alex blends his multicultural experience with a talent for developing, creating and implementing marketing communications that emotionally and culturally resonate with the Hispanic marketplace.
Alex is the currently the 2015 – 2016 Chair Elect of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Chair Elect of the School of Business at Weber State University.
